How Lazy?

One of the fellas in town told my mom that I was lazy.

And he said so laughingly.

And it was true.

That upset her.

But, knowing that town, that guy's comment was more of a compliment.

And this guy could have been making fun of Mom.

"Some people are so damn lazy ."

Who usually makes disparaging comments about so-called lazy people?

People who "work hard"?

Your competition?

Your critics?

People who rely too much on the efforts of others ?

If wisdom is a virtue,

and wisdom is when we learn from our mistakes,

then a wise person will not have to do as much as someone less experienced .

This is why we come up with sayings like "spinning your wheels" or "chasing your tail".

Lazy is not bad when it comes from wisdom.
