The Masks Revenge - Why I wear face coverings

My first time buying a mask was months before I ever heard about "The Pandemic". I bought several sports masks with the replaceable filters on either side of the face. They were nicely made and were basically a new article of protective gear for cycling thru urban traffic. Strictly to reduce my exposure to the pollution and auto exhaust fumes AKA "the brown cloud". I later learned that ozone levels in my city were particularly high. So that's where my mind was.
It wasnt until around February of 2020 that the reality of the pandemic hit home for me. Thankfully I was already socially distancing, thanks to my own eccentricities and out of the box lifestyle. It was after society's squabbling over masks and vaccines subsided enough that I actually remembered my own thoughts and my reasons for wearing a mask in the first place. And the pandemic only reinforced my pre-pandemic choice.
Overall, I appreciate my safety equipment. It serves an important purpose. I also like the way the masks look on me especially when riding a bike with my helmet and sunglasses.
Here are some other good reasons why I wear masks in (public, indoors and outdoors)...
° People stink sometimes
Yep! And I dont want to be the one smelling them. So far, for me the best shield for human funk in its many forms (besides avoiding humans altogether... which I do resort to at times,) is to wear a face covering. Like most airborn toxins, stink has a way of creeping up on us, then bammo, there it is. All up in our nostrils. At that point, nothing short of a quick exhalation or a blast of aerosol spray will help. So my best strategy for that is prevention and my best prevention is a face covering.
° Protection from the elements
Until I started wearing a face mask my the winter winds, snow and sleet mercilessly bit my face. Nothing short of a ski mask would help and for some reason, I never thought I needed one before. Maybe because I never skied, never stayed out in the cold long enough and never lived anywhere that got really really cold. So these little face masks became a great way to take the chill off. And a great way to block the wind. And the sun too, as anyone from the desert will confirm. So as time goes on I notice the myriad uses of these masks. It's nothing new really. People have been wearing face coverings for centuries for all of the reasons I've mentioned and more.
Why am I even bothering to write this?
Its not really to be defensive or talk trash. Though it may be warranted for me to do so...
The real reason i am writing this is I want my mask designs to sell!
So I have to inform people of the benefits. Just in case enough people haven't quite accepted face covering yet. I figure there needs to be a level of mass adoption before people will choose my masks over the competition's. so I am doijg my part by "edutaining" a few reader's to consider my wares.
So allow me to continue listing the basic benefits of wearing masks in general, in my own words...
°Did I mention germ spread? Not exactly.
In my opinion "The Pandemic" and "germ spread" are not the same thing. A pandemic is like when one germ becomes a public figure. Germ spread is like when a neo nazi coughs in my direction without covering their mouth. Or when someone fills the room with snot and spit by sneezing without covering their mouth and nose. I wonder sometimes if its become a petty species of germ warfare. So germ spread is more personal to me. More subjective than a pandemic. At any rate, a mask is a great way to block that mess. And nevermind the incitement my last few sentences may spark, instead consider the visits some of us make to the hospital or the clinic. And how about the toddlers and young children who innocently sneeze and cough everywhere. As cute and precious as they may be, theres no stopping that germ spread. Except perhaps by wearing a mask. As for the parents who resort to weaponizing their germy children, that's another story. Hopefully a comedy. And how about public restrooms?
Have you had enough yet?
Okay in closing, let's briefly mention:
°The AI and quantum computer supported facial recognition schemes
that threaten to infect the lives of private citizens with faulty and I daresay suspiciously engineered algorithms ...
Now those should be enough reasons to cover your face. In the past decade I've adopted a saying:
"You might as well have fun with it."
I wholeheartedly believe this applies to face covering.
And so, in considering my side of the story, remember that my masks have designs that are more than cosmetic. These masks have metaphysical designs. So without making quacked-out claims or weird ideations, I encourage people with a healthy imagination to try my soecially designed masks. Demand them . Get at least one to try or a collection to match different outfits if you haven't already. And if you have , then just buy one .
Thank you very much.
Cheers
